Equinox Myriad Plus Implants 2.0

PartMaker had a prosthodontist reach out recently with the hopes of customising an equinox myriad plus part as the client had encountered a patient with an unusually deep implant and the original myriad plus part was too short.

After careful consideration of the requirements, Dr. Hart and the team at PartMaker utilised specialist equipment at the PartMaker workshop to come up with a few prototypes of the revised implant, incorporating various changes to the original design.

The flange was initially elongated to accommodate the extra depth needed by the prosthodontist, but that introduced extra unwanted space around the implant location. A second prototype was developed where the chimney was lengthened instead of the head, and this resolved the issues and was deemed suitable by the prosthodontist. Additionally, a biaxial head was also implemented for the screw to allow angular access and provide added ease of use.
